Eligible Phones

The problem many people see with selling old phones online is that in general these mobile phones aren’t in the best condition. However, even if your phone is broken and doesn’t work phone companies will usually still want to buy from you because they can refurbish it and sell it either as a second hand phone or an emergency call device.

Something that you do need to consider is whether your phone is working or not working. This is because different companies have different ideas of which mobiles fall into each class. If the phone is very badly damaged then the company may not take it at all so you need to carefully read up on the rules and regulations before you send your phone in. The phone will be checked out so there isn’t much point to get away with lying.

For example, some companies say that for a phone to be working it must be able to turn on and get to the main operating system screen. If your phone can’t do that then this may be a problem and you may not be able to get the full price for your phone. On the other hand if your mobile doesn’t have a battery or it is flat then this doesn’t usually count as a nonworking phone and you will still often be able to get the full price. However you do need to check with the individual companies as they do differ.

If your phone is badly crushed or is even snapped in half and you probably won’t get any money as it is impossible for the company to refurbish it. It’s usually just common sense as to whether your mobile phone is able to be sold online but in the cases where it isn’t so clear it helps to read up on the rules and regulations of individual companies before you send off your phone just to make sure you aren’t wasting your time. You will often be surprised at the kind of phone they will take those that don’t immediately issue that yours won’t be good enough to have had some damage.
